Cyprus Services and Transport Sectors Report Broad-Based Growth in 2025

The Cyprus Statistical Service (Cystat) has reported that Cyprus’s services and transport sectors experienced broad-based growth during the final quarter of 2025. According to the data, the Turnover Value Index for the fourth quarter showed a 9.5 per cent increase in the accommodation and food service activities sector compared with the same period in 2024.

Real estate activities also recorded an upward trajectory, with growth of 5.7 per cent during the three-month period, while administrative and support service activities followed with a 4.1 per cent rise relative to the fourth quarter of the previous year. Professional, scientific, and technical activities observed a 3.4 per cent increase in turnover value as the year concluded, and the information and communication sector, a key pillar of the modern economy, saw its index grow by 2.1 per cent compared with the end of 2024. Transport and storage activities completed the list of expanding sectors with a more modest increase of 1.4 per cent during the fourth quarter.
Examining the broader annual performance for the period from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, Cystat noted significant gains across all monitored categories. Accommodation and food service activities maintained strong momentum, recording a 9.5 per cent increase for the full year. Administrative and support service activities continued their robust trajectory with an annual turnover rise of 7.4 per cent. The professional, scientific, and technical activities sector saw its index climb by 4.6 per cent throughout 2025, while information and communication activities reported annual growth of 4.3 per cent. Transport and storage activities posted a year-on-year increase of 2.8 per cent, and real estate activities exhibited the most conservative growth, registering only a 0.4 per cent rise for the full year.
The data from Cystat highlights a sustained recovery and expansion across the island’s key service and transport sectors, reflecting steady economic momentum as Cyprus closed out 2025.
