The share buybacks were carried out in line with decisions approved at the bank’s annual general meeting of shareholders on April 30, 2026, and following the subsequent announcement issued on June 12 concerning the launch of the first tranche of the bank’s share buyback programme.
The programme received regulatory approval from the European Central Bank’s Single Supervisory Mechanism on June 8, 2026.
The latest repurchases form part of a series of transactions previously disclosed by National Bank of Greece. Earlier announcements were issued on June 22, July 1, July 8, July 15, July 24, August 3 and August 10, 2026, detailing additional purchases under the buyback programme.
Following the most recent transactions, National Bank of Greece now directly holds 24,601,002 treasury shares. These shares represent 2.69 per cent of the bank’s total share capital.
In line with the resolutions approved by shareholders at the annual general meeting, the bank plans to proceed with the cancellation of the repurchased shares within the legally prescribed timeframe.
