Thailand Blocks 945,075 Online Gambling URLs in Fiscal 2026
Thailand blocked 945,075 URLs linked to illegal online gambling during the 2026 fiscal year, according to the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society.

The figure covers the period from October 2025 through September 2026. Of the total, 835,207 URLs were blocked under court orders, while a further 109,868 were removed through cooperation with digital platforms.
The ministry stressed that the figures represent individual gambling-related URLs rather than separate websites or operators.
The measures were outlined following a meeting between the ministry and anti-gambling and youth organisations on October 5. Authorities said they intend to strengthen cooperation with search engines and digital platforms to limit access to gambling websites and related content.
The ministry is also considering mechanisms allowing members of the public, including young people, to report gambling-related material and their experiences with online gambling. A proposed working group would review the information received, coordinate with platforms including TikTok and Meta, and refer relevant information to the Royal Thai Police.
Thailand's existing enforcement efforts combine information from police authorities, artificial intelligence tools used to identify gambling websites and reports submitted by the public.
The ministry also plans to cooperate with education, interior and security agencies to increase awareness of online gambling risks, particularly among children, young people and students, and to promote safer use of social media.
The latest figures follow an intensified campaign against online gambling during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. By the end of May 2026, authorities had blocked 673,699 gambling-related URLs during the first eight months of the fiscal year, with court orders accounting for 635,717 and platform cooperation accounting for 37,982.
During the World Cup period from June 1 to July 12, the ministry reported blocking a further 55,377 gambling-related URLs.
The Royal Thai Police has separately pursued gambling networks through arrests, website blocking and financial investigations. During an operation covering June 6 to June 14, police reported 596 gambling-related cases involving 629 suspects and identified more than THB2.15 billion in circulating funds linked to gambling networks.
Authorities have said that financial tracing is being used to identify network operators, financial supporters, mule-account holders and beneficial recipients in addition to targeting individual gamblers.
