Sportradar has officially entered the regulated United Arab Emirates (UAE) gambling market after being granted a gaming-related vendor licence by the UAE’s General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA). This groundbreaking development marks Sportradar as the first sports betting supplier — or dedicated sports wagering company of any kind — to gain official access to the UAE landscape. The newly issued licence authorizes the supplier to distribute its portfolio of products to licensed operators throughout the nation.

The milestone comes almost exactly one year after Aristocrat became the inaugural UAE licensee for retail gaming. Since that time, more than a dozen land-based suppliers have received gaming-vendor licences from the GCGRA; however, none have been focused specifically on sports wagering until now.
It has been a transformative twelve months for the UAE’s gambling sector, following the launch of the country’s first regulated national lottery in late 2024 — a move that has been accompanied by the rapid growth of the nation’s licensed supplier network.
On the operator side, Wynn Resorts has also made significant strides, having secured a $2.4bn loan earlier this year to fund its large-scale integrated hotel and casino resort development on Al Marjan Island. The company recently reaffirmed that the ambitious project remains on schedule for its planned 2027 opening.
For Sportradar, the UAE licence arrives on the heels of strong financial performance. In its Q2 2025 report, the company posted a 14% year-on-year revenue increase, reaching €318m ($369.5m). More recently, Sportradar also received clearance from the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) to move forward with its anticipated merger with IMG.
This latest approval underscores Sportradar’s growing global footprint while cementing its position as a pioneering force in the emerging UAE regulated gaming market.
