Rhode Island’s two commercial casinos generated a combined $51.4 million in gaming revenue in September 2026, representing a 0.3% increase compared with the same month last year. The results indicate broadly stable casino performance, with growth in table games offsetting a slight decline in slot revenue.

Rhode Island Gaming Revenue Reaches $51.4 Million in September

According to figures published by the Rhode Island Lottery, slot machines generated approximately $41.4 million, down 0.6% year-on-year. Table games contributed approximately $10 million, an increase of 4.2%. The figures cover Bally’s Lincoln and Bally’s Tiverton, the state’s two casino properties.

Bally’s Lincoln remained the larger contributor, generating approximately $39.2 million in September, broadly unchanged from the previous year. Slot revenue increased by 1.1% to $31.3 million, while table-game revenue declined by 5.4% to $7.9 million.

Bally’s Tiverton recorded revenue of approximately $12.2 million, an increase of 2.4% year-on-year. Its slot revenue fell by 5.3% to $10.2 million, but table-game revenue rose substantially, increasing by 70.4% to approximately $2.1 million. The increase in table games at Tiverton was therefore a significant contributor to the property's overall positive result.

The September casino figures form part of a wider gambling market that also includes sports betting and online casino gaming. Separate reporting indicates that Rhode Island's combined sports betting and iGaming wagering reached approximately $169 million in September, an increase of 3% year-on-year. iGaming revenue was approximately $5.9 million, while sports betting generated approximately $3.1 million in revenue.

Sports betting activity showed a different pattern from the casino results. The total amount wagered on sports declined by approximately 7.2% year-on-year to $36.1 million, while sportsbook revenue increased by 8.8% to approximately $3.1 million. The higher revenue despite lower betting volume was associated with an increase in the sportsbook hold, from 7.34% to 8.60%.

At the time of the September reporting period, Rhode Island continued to operate a single online sportsbook through the state lottery's Sportsbook Rhode Island platform, operated by IGT. A second online sportsbook operated by Bally's was expected to launch no earlier than 26 November 2026, following the end of IGT's exclusivity period. Its introduction is expected to bring an end to the state's single-operator online sports betting model.

The September results demonstrate the continued importance of casino gaming to Rhode Island's gambling market, while online casino gaming and sports betting provide additional sources of activity and revenue. Although the combined casino revenue increase was modest, the contrasting performance of slots and table games at the two properties illustrates how individual gaming categories can influence the overall results.
