VIP play in Macau posted a sharp annual increase in the second quarter of 2025, despite the region’s ongoing strategic shift toward mass-market gaming and non-gaming revenue streams. According to the latest figures released by the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) of the Macau SAR, VIP Baccarat generated nearly MOP16.33 billion ($2.02 billion) in revenue during the quarter. This marked a robust year-on-year increase of over 22.6 percent and a sequential uptick of nearly 13 percent.

Although the VIP segment showed strong momentum, it still lagged behind the more dominant mass market. Revenue from non-VIP Baccarat reached MOP35.58 billion ($4.4 billion) in the same period. However, its growth was considerably more modest—up just 2.7 percent from the same quarter last year and 3.67 percent higher than the previous quarter.
Slot machines also saw solid gains during the second quarter. Slot revenue climbed to MOP3.51 billion ($434 million), reflecting a 7.33 percent increase compared to the first quarter and a year-on-year rise of 9.4 percent.
Live Multi Game offerings also reported positive growth. The segment posted MOP1.26 billion ($155.8 million) in revenue, representing a 4 percent sequential increase and a 10.88 percent rise compared to the same quarter in 2024.
Throughout the second quarter, Macau maintained a stable number of operational casinos, totaling 30 properties, including satellite venues. Of these, 13 were operated by SJM, four by Galaxy Entertainment, five by Sands China, two by Wynn, four by Melco, and two by MGM.
