Huawei Cyprus announced on Tuesday that Cyprus will be included in the European tour of the Huawei 5G Roadshow 2022, with this year's event focusing on how 5G networks may be implemented in a private capacity.
This is the second year in a row that Huawei's roadshow will visit Cyprus.
The event, themed '5G Mobile Private Networks,' will take place on the campus of the University of Cyprus from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on December 5-8, allowing visitors to discover and become acquainted with Huawei's innovative products and services.
The event's centrepiece is Huawei's demo truck, which houses the aforementioned technical solutions.
“The introduction of 5G has brought a new era in telecommunications and the dynamics of fifth generation networks can transform many more industries,” the company said in a statement.
“The advantages of 5G, such as high transmission speeds, ultra-fast response times and high reliability, can be exploited by organisations operating in various sectors by deploying a 5G mobile private network,” the statement added, noting that by deploying a 5G Mobile Private Network, an organisation can operate more efficiently and more securely.
Furthermore, the company stated that 5G Mobile Private Networks are being constructed at a rapid pace in Europe and are likely to develop significantly over the next five years.
Huawei is involved in a number of such projects, with the 5G Roadshow 2022 providing an opportunity to display the company's technology and solutions in Cyprus.
Visitors to the 5G Roadshow 2022 will be able to discover firsthand how a 5G Mobile Private Network may alter the way industries function, thanks to Huawei's demonstration truck, which is outfitted with its own 5G Mobile Private Network.
Furthermore, at the event location, real-world examples of 5G Mobile Private Networks applications in various industries will be shown.
The small-scale use cases shown as part of the Huawei 5G Roadshow 2022 are sourced from the manufacturing, chemical, shipping, and cement industries, according to the company.
In the aforementioned industries, 5G mobile private networks are utilised to execute quality control utilising artificial intelligence, remote machine control, and logistics automation.
“Augmented reality is another technology that is being adopted at a rapid pace,” the company said, noting that “by combining Augmented Reality with a mobile private 5G network, it enables seamless collaboration from anywhere, thus eliminating distances within an organisation”.
According to the corporation, the unique technological benefits of 5G mobile private networks will play a critical role in the digitization of Europe's sectors.
“The aim of Huawei, one of the leading providers of Information and Communication Technologies worldwide, is to contribute to the acceleration of the digitisation of European industries through the use of fifth generation networks,” Huawei said.
“This year’s Huawei 5G Roadshow themed “Mobile Private Network” comes to highlight the power of 5G to both the industry and the Cypriot public,” it concluded.
