The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) has instructed fund managers and self-managed investment funds to submit their statistical returns for the third quarter of 2026 by October 30, 2026, warning that failure to file on time or submitting incomplete information could result in administrative penalties.

CySEC sets October 30 deadline for Q3 fund management statistical returns

In a circular issued this week, CySEC said the reporting obligation covers Alternative Investment Fund Managers (AIFMs), UCITS management companies, internally managed AIFs and UCITS, AIFLNPs, their management companies and small AIFMs.

The requirement applies to all regulated entities that were authorised by CySEC, or appointed to act as external managers, by September 30, 2026. Entities that had obtained authorisation by that date but had not yet exercised or used their authorisation are also required to submit the return.

For the latest reporting period, firms must complete the QST-MC Version 26 form and submit it electronically through CySEC’s Transaction Reporting System (TRS).

CySEC reminded reporting entities that responsibility for verifying the successful submission rests with the firm. Following submission, entities must check that they have received the official feedback file confirming whether the return has been accepted.

A submission will only be regarded as successfully completed when the feedback file contains the indication “NO ERROR”. If the feedback file identifies errors, the reporting entity must correct the relevant information and submit the form again. Where required, the form must also be digitally signed before being resubmitted.

The commission has set Friday, October 30, 2026, as the final deadline for successful submission of the Q3 returns.

CySEC warned that failure to comply with the reporting requirements in a timely and proper manner may result in administrative penalties under the CySEC Law. It also made clear that firms should not expect additional reminders, stating that “no reminders will be sent” to entities that fail to meet the deadline.

The commission has also specified a number of technical requirements for the statistical returns. All figures must be reported in euros and rounded to the nearest unit, while every validation check incorporated into the form must display TRUE before the submission can be completed.

Reporting entities have additionally been instructed to verify that they are working with the correct Version 26 of the form

.

The file submitted through the TRS must follow the prescribed naming convention, which is based on the entity’s TRS username, the reporting date and the form code, with the required format beginning “Username.”

CySEC has also set an earlier date for firms seeking clarification on how to complete the return. Questions concerning the completion of the form must be submitted to the commission in writing before October 23, 2026.

Technical questions relating to digital signatures and the submission process should instead be directed separately to CySEC’s IT support team.

The commission’s latest notice therefore places responsibility on regulated entities to ensure that the correct QST-MC Version 26 form is completed accurately, passes all validation checks and receives a “NO ERROR” feedback confirmation before the October 30 deadline.
