Aristocrat Receives UAE’s First Gaming-Related Vendor Licence from GCGRA

Flexi Group

Aristocrat has made history by becoming the first gaming-related vendor to be licensed by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This landmark license grants Aristocrat permission to supply its extensive range of electronic gaming machines to land-based casinos and make its online slot games and technological solutions available to UAE-based commercial operators approved by the GCGRA.

The company achieved this licensing milestone by meeting the strict regulatory requirements set by the GCGRA, a federal body overseeing gaming operations within the UAE. Although the GCGRA has only recently started issuing gaming licenses, the licensing of Aristocrat indicates that the UAE’s sole venue with a commercial gaming license—Wynn Resorts—will soon feature Aristocrat’s slot games on its casino floor.

“We are honoured to be the first large, international technology provider to be awarded a gaming-related vendor license to serve the UAE market,” stated Hector Fernandez, CEO of Gaming for Aristocrat. “At Aristocrat, our vision is to deliver the best seat in the house wherever, and whenever the world plays. We look forward to doing so by providing premium content for players in the UAE while simultaneously encouraging responsible gameplay.”

This development comes on the heels of Aristocrat’s appointment of Anne Tucker as its new Chief Legal Officer. Since joining the company in 2021, Tucker has brought extensive experience from her previous roles, having held senior legal and company secretary positions with Corporate Travel Management, Tatts Group, and UniTab.

In addition to the UAE licence, Aristocrat also celebrated a trio of wins earlier this month at the Global Gaming Awards Americas, further bolstering its position as a leading player in the gaming industry.
