Another six offshore gaming and affiliate marketing websites have been blocked by the ACMA

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has asked that six more offshore gambling and affiliate marketing websites be blocked because they are operating unlawfully in the country.

The ACMA investigated Casino Moons, Winnerama, Extra Vegas, Win Paradise, LegitGamblingSites.com, and Gamblers Lab and found them to be in violation of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.

As a result, the ACMA contacted the country's internet service providers (ISPs) and demanded that the sites be prohibited in Australia.

The ACMA has blacklisted 568 illicit gaming and affiliate websites since its initial banning request in November 2019.

Since the ACMA began implementing new illegal offshore gambling legislation in 2017, over 170 unlawful services have also left the Australian market. “The ACMA is reminding consumers that even if a service looks legitimate, its unlikely to have important customer protections,” the ACMA said. “This means Australians who use illegal gambling services risk losing their money.” The new round of blocking requests comes after the ACMA issued its first formal warning to a supplier earlier this month, after discovering that Proxous Advanced Solutions violated rules by delivering gaming software to 13 illicit online casinos. The ACMA discovered that by sublicensing Realtime Gaming (RTG)-branded software packages used by casinos, Proxous was intentionally involved in the provision of banned interactive gambling services to Australians, in violation of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. Fair Go Casino, Two Up Casino, Free Spin, BoVegas, Uptown Pokies, Uptown Aces, Red Dog Casino, Slots Empire, Cherry Gold Casino, Play Croco, Aussie Play, Ozwin Casino, and Reels Of Joy were among the illicit casino brands judged to be operating illegally.
